Our Team

Michael Spreckelmeier - Owner

Michael Spreckelmeier, the president of PBI started the company in 1989. A third generation contractor, Michael has been in and around the construction industry since the early sixties. After high school Mike took off to become a commercial fisherman for a few years and soon realized that fishing should be for fun and not a way to make a living. Now fishing is more of a hobby and much more enjoyable.

After the fishing years Mike worked with Honc construction in the marine construction field. He moved through the ranks from laborer to quality control. Next, Mike worked for a homebuilder as a superintendent for a couple of years before starting Progressive Builders. After a diverse beginning full of dock work, remodeling and new construction Mike made one of the best moves of his life, to focus on only remodeling.

Mike is a state certified General contractor, a state certified building inspector, a member of NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry), a member or the Remodelers Council, a member of Remodelers Advantage and has studied design and architecture with the Institute of Classical Architecture.

Mike loves to quote writers, poets, scriptures and his Grandfather. “My grandfather told me that if you always do your very best, and your reputation is the best, that you will always have business”. He also said that “anything worth doing is worth doing to the best of your ability, no matter if it is fishing, remodeling or life”, Mike takes this quotes to heart.
